Duke Energy Carolinas provides billing data through the residential My Account portal, the Business Experience portal, and the mobile app. Business customers can consolidate up to 100 accounts and export billing summaries to CSV. Duke Energy Carolinas has deployed smart meters to over 90% of its customer base, collecting 15-minute interval data. Commercial customers can download 15-minute interval data for free through the Business Experience portal or via Energy Profiler Online (EPO) for $15/meter/month. Residential customers see aggregated daily views in the app; raw interval data is not directly downloadable for residential until the 2025 NC program launches.

Rate Schedules & Tariff Analysis

DEC's C&I rate design is demand-tiered: customers graduate from SGS to LGS at 75 kW, with large industrial users on Schedule I and an optional time-of-use schedule (OPT/OPT-V) available across classes. Energy charges are tiered by kWh/kW and seasonal; LGS and above add a per-kW demand charge governed by a demand ratchet (changed to a 70% annual ratchet with a 30 kW minimum in Jan 2024). Power factor below 85% triggers a corrective demand adjustment on TOU schedules.
