Rate Schedules & Tariff Analysis

Citizens C&I gas costs break into a regulated delivery component (Rate D3-D9) and a gas commodity component (Citizens Rate S1 variable supply or a third-party supplier under Citizens Energy Select). Large users (D5, D9) and those with strong load factors gain the most from supplier choice and from optimizing nominations and balancing.

Citizens Energy Group Data Access FAQ

Does Citizens Energy Group offer interval data for commercial accounts?

Yes. Through the Citizens EnerLink (CEL) platform, eligible commercial, industrial, and thermal accounts can view and download interval consumption at 60-minute or daily granularity for gas (5-minute for steam) and export it as CSV.

Can my business choose its natural gas supplier?

Yes, for eligible rate classes. The Citizens Energy Select program lets C&I customers in Marion County (D3, D4, D5, D7, D9) and Westfield (D30, D40, D50) choose a third-party gas supplier while Citizens continues to provide regulated delivery service.

Does Citizens support EDI for commercial data exchange?

Yes, for approved gas suppliers in the Citizens Energy Select program. Citizens exchanges ANSI X12 transactions including 867 (usage), 854 (nominations), 810 (invoice), and 814 (account status) via VAN or SFTP.

Is there a public API for Citizens energy data?

No public API is published by the utility. Programmatic access is available via CSV exports (scriptable) or through Nectar, which provides API access to Citizens billing and interval data with customer authorization — see docs.nectarclimate.com.

How can a third party access my business's usage data?

Provide written authorization and submit a request to the Citizens Business Contact Center (317-927-4328); data is delivered as CSV/PDF in 2-5 business days. For ongoing access, use a Key Account Coordinator or Nectar's API (docs.nectarclimate.com).
